Memories

Today is my best friend, Becca's big # 27 birthday. I would like to take this section in my blog to reflect on our friendship and Bec as a person. She is the most giving and caring person that I have ever met in my life.
We have been friends for a long long time, 15 years in fact. We have endured a lot of ups and downs in our lives over the past 15 years, and Bec has always stood by my side during every tribulation as well as the triumphs. I can't look back on my life and imagine going through a lot of things without her. She moved away when we were in junior high, this was before the internet so we would write letters, almost daily. The price of stamps was a little less then as well. We would also make tapes of ourselves talking and send them back and forth to one another. It was quite cheaper than phone calls and we could listen to the conversation numerous times. We would see one another when the chances arose. It was hard sometimes knowing that my best friend lived in another town and went to another school, and made new friends and had a different life than I had but we endured. In fact, it made our bond stronger. She called my mother 'mom' and I did the same with hers. My mom always called Bec her oldest daughter eventhough Bec is 2 months younger than myself. Becca always acted older mom would say. (Thanks, Mom)
Becca is a very giving and caring person. She would always let me win at tetherball when we were played as elementary students *wink*. She gave me her left glove while keeping her right so that I would have one warm hand while we swang high in the sky singing the theme song to the kit kat commercial...come on, Bec...you remember it. "Gimmie a Break, Gimmie a Break, Break me off a piece of that Kit Kat Bar..."
Times were tough sometimes in our family. But, we endured and it made us stronger women. Independent women who can stand on our own two feet. Two friends who have pushed their way to the top keeping such a strong bond along the way.
Bec, I just want to take this time to tell you how much I admire you for all you have accomplished in your life. You are a successful, independent businesswoman who is a true child at heart. You are such an inspiration to me and many others who are so proud to see how well you have succeeded on your own despite hardships that you have endured!!! You are proof to all girls growing up that you can be what you wanna be and do what you wanna do in life if you put your mind to it and keep your eye on the prize!! Thank you for being you, Bec. Thank you for all you do. Keep on rollin' baby!!
I love you best friend, forever and always.
Happy Birthday and may the new year bring you as much happiness as you bring to me!
