Hello!!

Hello Blog World!!!

It's been a while since I've blogged.
Where in the world has my time gone!?!
It seems like the last month has been a whirlwind. But, things are begining to shape up and get straightened out. So, hopefully I'll stay on track with Blogging.

I did start dieting after the first of the year, although my first 'official' weigh in was discouraging. I had only lost one pound! : (
We're all dieting at work and I lost the least amount. The sad thing is that the guys I work with all admitted to cheating this weekend and they lost more than me and I didn't cheat!
Anyhow, I am joining Curves today. I am excited about it. I am looking forward to having a more healthy mind and body in 2006!!!

Week 21

Tyler is on the go! He likes to creep around the floor and can turn his body to see something behind him. When he is on his back, he can push his chest and part of his stomach off the floor to get a better look around.Tyler is probably strong enough to sit in an upright position and can now face forward as you carry him around with the support of your baby sling. Also try moving Tyler to your hip; you'll have greater freedom of movement and your back, shoulders and arms will thank you as your hip supports most of his weight. You may notice Tyler making obvious, conscious decisions as he plays - he may reach beyond one toy just to get at a more attractive one. His greater strength and coordination will also allow him to squeeze toys to make them squeak. He may also be able to hold a bottle all by himself now.He will closely observe the movements your mouth makes when you speak and may attempt to imitate the sounds and the inflection in your voice. He will babble specific sounds in an attempt to get attention and will "talk" back when spoken to. He will also mimic your facial expressions, which can be a source of endless entertainment for you!

"There's a Naughty List?!?!"

Merry Christmas

Hello everyone. I just wanted to take the time to wish all of my readers (both of ya) a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Since I don't have internet at home yet and I am off for the next four days, I figured I'd better tell ya now.

I hope everyone gets to enjoy the gifts of the season and more importantly spends time with their loved ones, friends, and family. : )

Merry Christmas to you all!!

The Twentieth Week In Your Baby's Development

Tyler, the little grabber, is working feverishly at improving his grasp by latching onto anything and everything that he can get his little hands around. Tyler will want to touch, hold, turn, shake, and put in his mouth everything within his reach. If one object isn't interesting enough, it's likely to be pitched in favor of another. (He loves to grab long hair. He'll concentrate on it so hard and when you bend down over him, he'll snatch it right up! It is the cutest thing. Shelby doesn't like it so much, though. It used to make her pretty mad. But, I explained to her that he doesn't realize what he is doing. We just have to encourage him not to do that.)

Tyler may be beginning to display some distinct personality traits - is he quiet or a nonstop babbler? Is he outgoing or shy? He may also start to protest when it's time to put his favorite toys away as he is able to retain the memory of an object even after it's gone.

To encourage Tyler to make choices and practice crawling, try placing a toy just out of Tyler's reach so he has to move to reach it. He may also start pushing objects out of reach, either because he doesn't like the item, as a game to reach for it again, or so that he can get YOU to pick it up for him.

Although some friends and family may advocate feeding Tyler solids early to encourage him to sleep longer at night, you should feel confident if you decide to wait a little longer and continue nursing exclusively. Studies show that introducing solids before six months of age may cause your baby discomfort because his still-immature digestive system isn't quite ready for solid food. The end result is often less sleep, not more. Your little one will not be harmed by your decision to wait, and you'll both enjoy the final weeks of exclusive nursing.

Cute story

So, this morning I am getting ready to leave for work.
My little girl, who is three stays at home with the baby sitter.
She has started this bit of wanting me to stay home with her.
She told me Sunday night that she didn't want to stay with Amanda, she wanted to stay with me 'cause I am "her girl".

Now, being a parent is a huge blessing, but when your children tell you something like that, I tell ya what...it makes you melt!!
I got this huge grin on my face and told her to tell her daddy what she just told me, so she repeated it. Again, my grin got larger and my head was begining to slightly swell. : )

I explained to her that mommy and daddy had to work to make sure we could live in our new house and pay the bills. But, that we would be home in the afternoon and see her and brother then.

She was okay with it, but not too happy.

Ahhh...what a life!

Family Pics

For some reason I can't get my photos to upload to Blogger, so I have put them on Flikr (to the left side of my blog). There are pics of the family, then each of the kids individually and one of them together. I'll try to see if I can get 'em posted later. But until then you can view them there.

Google

I thought this was pretty funny. I got this from another website, so I'll give props. It's a pretty good site if you wanna check it out: Jason Cage.

Go to Google and type in "Failure" as a search term. See what pops up!! Pretty funny. (Bec, you'll like this one)
