Thursday Thirteen

Things Currently In The Nursery

Right now, our baby's nursery is an office. We have approximately 8 weeks until her expected due date. We have yet to clean out the office and begin the transformation. I am waiting on the nesting effect to kick in, but I am beginning to wonder if it will. I am a very tired momma and I find it hard to become motivated with baby #3. These are things that need to be removed/relocated to make room for our newest family member:

1. A HUGE L shape desk that was put together inside of the room. I think this will prove to be a difficult item to remove from the house!

2. A Gun Cabinet. Hubby is getting a gun safe and we will return this beautiful piece of furniture to the friend who let us use it in the first place since we no longer have room for it.

3. Hubby's "Hunting Cabinet" that has a lot of his hunting gear inside.

4. Books

5. Photo Albums

6. Pictures in frames that decorated the hutch of said L shaped desk in #1.

7. Various assorted office supplies

8. My scanner/copier

9. Grown up curtains/decorations

10. Hunting/camping gear in the corner that belongs to hubby

11. Computer accessories, disks, paper, etc.

12. 2 rather large book shelves loaded with books & albums (#4 &5)

13. A file cabinet with personal stuff/bills, etc.

Most of these items will be relocated to my husband's office in town since I will work for him after I have the baby instead of going back to my current job. The rest we will have to make room for in other locations of our home. We have tentative plans to enclose the garage for another bedroom so that we will still have an office. This task will obviously not be completed before the baby's due date so we will have to make due until then.
We plan on tackling some of this feat during the holiday weekend. Wish us luck!!!

I do wish you well in doing the task at hand, its a big job especially since you are feeling low energy and not motivated to do the job...but some times the hard part is just starting, once a person starts then it doesn't seem half bad!

It sounds like you have lots of projects coming up. Congratulations on the soon to be born baby. My sister just had her 3rd. She came 2 1/2 months early, but all is well.

Good luck on getting everything done! I remember how hard it was to get motivated to finish everything for Becca's room during those last several weeks. :)

You have a lot to do to get that nest ready. I'm rooting for you!

I never felt the nesting instinct kick in. I had to force myself to get things ready and in that process I found myself getting more excited and wanting to do more to get ready!

It's a daunting task but I bet once your pretty bed sheets go on and everything gets set it will all be worth it!

Great list, mine is up at 13 Not So Famous Last Words; Most Americans die peacefully in their beds, but for those who die violently one can only guess what their final words must have been. I think that after you read these you will have to agree that they do indeed sound like they might have been the last words of those who did not go peacefully into the night.

Hi Tisha!
Oh honey I am hoping and praying you get some of your projects tackled in the soon to be baby's room. Sometimes the nesting dosn't come like with the first ones until its almost time. I had that same problem with my second. Once I started it all came back. You will have her room all pretty in no time. :-)

Have a Very Happy 4th of July!
Blessings and Hugs,
Kimmie

P.S. Thanks for stopping by my blog! I have been very behind these days, but I am trying.

you know even though it is hard work (and be careful with that) it does sound like fun getting her room ready to greet the little princess!

I have a love/hate relationship with reorganizing. I hate to do it, but love it when it's completed. I wish you all the best with this. No heavy lifting for you - just supervising!!

Oh Honey, the nesting instinct only happens with the first...when you've got active youngsters you don't have the energy to complete the task till baby is due.

Yeah, I'm thinking a gun cabinet in the nursery is just a tad toooooo redneck, honey!
